‘By Hand’ - Helpful, Realistic Design Advice for Your Home

(And I’d wager for your heart and mind as well**)

A few years back I offered interior design consultations. In retrospect, they were bigger and more grandiose than I’d intended. Suffice it to say, I’ve done some remodeling, to make what I’m now calling ‘By Hand’ more tangible, approachable, and applicable.

‘By Hand’ captures how I approach most conundrums—thoughtfully tactile.

**We spend a lot of time in our homes. In addition to the hundred other reasons why homes are special, they comfort us when we’re feeling blue, they provide a space to celebrate with friends, and they shelter us amidst life’s literal and figurative storms.

‘By Hand’ is aimed at addressing one room or area of your home that’s driving you crazy and in need of design and or styling support.

Whole house makeovers are extremely rare. For the majority of us it’s about diagnosing everyday design issues and tackling them one at a time, one room at a time.

There are so many ways this can be done—but here’s a few:

• ‘shopping your house’

• relocating / restyling what you already have

• consideration of paint, color, texture, upholstery, art, etc.

• selling/donating what’s no longer serving you, (spaciousness is a gift)

• having access to my Resource Lists for sourcing anything new/used.

Note: no more than three product recommendations will be made for something new aka BUY (i.e. furniture, rug, window treatment, paint). I can’t stress enough how transformative layout changes, DIYs like painting, or furniture rearrangement can be.
